The supremes might be my favourite Motown band, which is pretty high praise. I struggled to decide between this and Where did our love go? but in the end this just edged it.

I seem to have a weakness for Scandinavian pop which began with Bjork and hasn’t really stopped since. Relentlessly upbeat, perhaps my most hummed and whistled song of 2010.
Proving that you don’t have to be nice guys to make good music…

The highlight of a spectacular album. The contrast between sunny melody and aching melancholy simmering just beneath the surface is stunning. Additionally, a pretty dope album sleeve.
Pet Sounds:
I wish I could sound this good with a broken heart!
Willie Tee was a pioneer of the New Orleans funk and Soul scene. I first heard this track here:
On the “Downtown Soulville with Mr.Fine Wine” show – Well worth a look.

Perfectly 80’s. A theme I will probably revisit!
What other way could I possibly begin?
Additionally, extra kudos for the attire in the video (taken from the album sleeve – also a favourite). I wish i could look that good in a yellow suit!
David Byrne – What a hero. Truly spectacular video. Could it be any more 1980’s?
Same as it ever was…
