The Field – Then it’s white
This is a little meandering but it is very soothing and hypnotic. Is it just me or is no surprise, based on this track, that The Field is Swedish? It is taken from the album Looping state of mind, which I happen to think is a great title.
Real Estate – It’s Real
This is light and jaunty, and I have been enjoying it recently. It reminds me of the beach boys and perhaps a more sunny fleet foxes. I don’t know too much about them other then they are from New Jersey via Brooklyn.
Dead Prez vs. Grizzly Bear – Two weeks of hip hop
This just works, it probably shouldn’t, but it just does. A real meeting of two starkly different genres but I like it. Grizzly Bear are NYC hipsters and Dead Prez are angry, conscious rappers with something interesting to say. It’s great when a mash up enhances rather than detract from 2 good songs, which is my normal experience of them.
You would rather have a Lexus or justice? A dream or some substance? A Beamer, a necklace or FREEDOM?
M83 – Midnight City
These guys are a French electronica act, apparently named after a spiral galaxy rather than a motorway as I first thought. I really like how urgent it is.

Fitz and The Tantrums – MoneyGrabber
I heard these guys on the radio today, and liked their sound. It is like a modern take on Stax and Motown, which is a good place to start. Additionally, I think the Fitz and The Tantrums is a great name.
Mo Kolours – Biddies
This continues my current fad for simple, mellow electronica. It has no bells and whistles but there is something engaging and hypnotic about it which I find appealing. I don’t know know much about the artist, but I intend to find out some more.
Kid Cudi – Man on the moon
Kid Cudi is a bit of an uber hipster, but don’t hold that against him. He makes generally intelligent and catchy hip hop. I really like the slightly off-kilter feel of this.
S.C.U.M. – Whitechapel
Computer issues this evening mean this will be a short one. This is another good band with a rubbish name. I hope you can look past that and enjoy the track as I have been over the past few days. It is an urgent and energetic mid-week pick me up.
I can hear is a bit of Suede about them (A very good thing).
Twin Sister – All around and away we go
This is light and poppy, but also very fun. It also has a video to match. Some Saturday night listening to get us moving. Enjoy.

Crystal Fighters – Champion Sound
This has a bit of a cheesy vibe for my normal taste. But it is very infectious and has been something of a guilty pleasure for me over ecent days.
