Paul Weller – The Changingman
A good friend reminded me of what a spectacular album Stanley Road is yesterday. We were remarking about how vividly it reminded us of school days.
This still sounds great. It’s HEAVY.

David Bowie – Let’s Dance
I felt like starting the week with some David Bowie. No particular reason other than it has been a while since I featured him.
This track is taken from the 1983 album of the same name.

Stereolab* – Miss Modular
This breezy number by London band Stereolab is perfect Sunday listening. It is taken from their 1997 album Dots and Loops. I think the video is rather charming too, retro if somewhat esoteric it fits the track perfectly.

Elton John – Are You Ready For Love? | (GPF)
I heard this track on the radio earlier in the week. I know Elton is rather naff but it’s so damn catchy I couldn’t get it out of my head…

The Spencer Davis Group* – Gimme Some Lovin’
I was reminded of this track when revisiting The Blues Brother (which features a good version for an unappreciative audience!) recently.
It was originally released in 1966 by English band The Spencer Davis Group. It is a go to song if I ever need to give a party or playlist some energy.
