This is a wonderful slice of upbeat, joyous African music from South African legends Dark City Sisters.
I have been meaning to post them again for a long time having discovered them in 2012 with Sekusile being one of my favourite tracks of the year.

Morrison had first recorded the title song, “Don’t Look Back” on his debut album as the front man for the Northern Irish band Them.
“Don’t Look Back ” is a song written by Blues singer-songwriter John Lee Hooker and released as a single in 1964. Morrison and Hooker also dueted it on a subsequent recording. Perhaps don’t look back is sentiment we should all adopt.

This came onto my MP3 player this weekend for the first time in a while and still sounded amazing. I was surprised I hadn’t posted it already.
I still remember hearing it for the first time and the opening leaving me utterly speechless. The opening line must be one of my all time favourites, full of mysticism and longing just like the album to which is gives it’s name.

Classic track from 60’s icon Sandie Shaw. The Eurovision Song Contest a few weeks ago reminded me of her, as she was the first UK singer to win it in 1967 with Puppet on a String.

A friend described Ben E. King as being simultaneously over and under rated, and I have to agree. His most famous track Stand By Me has been played to death but some of his other work, both solo and with The Drifters is really outstanding.
