RjK Wedding Party Playlist

So a friend asked me to put together a playlist for his wedding party of Saturday. This task was one part fun, one part daunting.
The motif I went for was a raucous Trawl Through the Ages / Late 90’s School Disco / Early 2000’s University Night Out.
See the playlist below and do let me know what you think:

Paul Weller – The Changingman

A good friend reminded me of what a spectacular album Stanley Road is yesterday. We were remarking about how vividly it reminded us of school days.

This still sounds great. It’s HEAVY.

Dimitri Shostakovich* – String Quartet No.8 in C minor

I have never featured any classical music before. I am going to go ahead and admit that I am a Philistine when it comes to this genre. It has always been one (much like Jazz) that I feel like I might get into when I grow up. No danger of that happening anytime soon though….

Anyway, a friend (and Classical aficionado) recommended this, which was apparently composed in merely three days.

Dimitri Shostakovich (1906 – 1975)
String Quartet No.8 in C minor op.110 (Dresden, 1960)
Emerson Quartet (Live recording July 1998)
